Bihar Politics: In Bihar, Nitish Kumar has left the BJP and joined RJD. There is also a swearing-in ceremony of the Grand Alliance government in the afternoon. After this move of Nitish, JDU has become the third party to leave the NDA. Earlier, Akali Dal and Shiv Sena had also left the NDA.

At the same time, after Nitish Kumar broke the alliance with the BJP, not only did the power of Bihar slip out of the hands of the NDA, but he would also have to face problems in the Rajya Sabha. BJP’s Biju Janata Dal of Odisha and YSR of Andhra Pradesh to get important bills passed in Rajya Sabha. Will have to depend on parties like Congress (YSRCP).

Total number of 237 MPs in Rajya Sabha

Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United), or JDU, has five MPs in the Rajya Sabha, including Deputy Chairman Harivansh. Although NDA is with JDU, it has not got majority in Rajya Sabha. Let us inform that there is a total number of 237 MPs in the Upper House of Parliament i.e. Rajya Sabha and the majority figure is 119. The current number of NDA MPs was 115 in which there are one independent and 5 nominated members and after the exit of JDU, this figure has reached 110.

There, before the winter session, the government can nominate three more people to the Rajya Sabha. Meanwhile, there is a possibility that BJP will win the seat of Tripura, although despite all this, NDA will be able to reach only 114 members. Then the new majority figure will also change and will reach 121. NDA will still have a shortage of 7 members to come to the majority. In such a situation, to pass any important laws, NDA will need the support of BJD and YSRC, which have 9-9 members in the Rajya Sabha.
