What is Agneepath Scheme?
The Agneepath scheme gives the youth a chance to be recruited for four years in all the three water, land and air forces of India. Under this, a target has been set to recruit about 40 to 45 thousand youths in the army every year. The recruits recruited in this scheme will be called Agniveer. Since the announcement of the plan, there was widespread opposition to it. Due to this, violent demonstrations also took place in many places across the country in the past.
