The Assam government on Saturday ordered the reopening of schools on September 21 for classes 9, 10, 11 and 12 students with written permission from their guardians. Assam Health and Family Welfare Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said schools will be reopened informally from September 21. Students aged 9, 10, 11 and 12 standards attend schools with written permission from their parents. There will be a 50 percent attendance of teachers.
Sarma said the COVID-19 tests will be conducted for students and teachers. Deputy Commissioner (DC) will take new decisions if a large number of cases of a particular school is detected.
