Those taking Covishield and Covaccine can also take a booster dose of Corbevax from tomorrow

Corbevax Vaccine: Now another weapon has come in the fight against Corona (Covid-19). Biologicals E. Ltd. has recently made the Kovid-19 Vaccine Corbevax available in both public and private vaccination centers. This vaccine can also be taken as a booster dose from Friday through the Cowin app.

Anyone who is 18 years of age and above can get Corbevax. This dose can also be administered by people who have had Covaccine and Covishield. People who have completed both their doses can take this vaccine as a booster shot.

How many children have taken the Kovid vaccine?
Pharmaceutical company Biological E Limited said in a press release that it has so far supplied 10 core vaccines of Carbavax vaccine to the Central Government. India’s first indigenous RBD protein subunit ‘Corbevax’ vaccine was approved on 16 March 2022 for children in the age group of 12 to 14 years. So far around 70 million doses of Corbevax vaccine have been administered and 2.9 crore children have received both doses.

How many people have approved the Corbavax vaccine?
The Union Health Ministry on Wednesday approved the administration of a booster dose of ‘Corbevax’ vaccine to people above 18 years of age who have received two doses of the Covishield or Covaccine vaccine. This is going to be the first time in the country that a vaccine other than the first and second dose vaccines has been allowed as a precautionary dose.

The vaccination approval of the Health Ministry is based on the recent recommendations made by the National Technical Advisory Group (NTAGI)’s COVID-19 Working Group. For those over the age of 18 who have taken the second dose of Covaccine or Covishield for six months or 26 weeks, Corbevax will be available as a precautionary dose.
