Omicron Variant Active in Delhi: If you think that the corona virus infection has been completely eradicated from the country, here you need to be careful and alert. Because neither the corona virus is gone nor the Omicron variant, which is still active in the national capital of the country, Delhi. We are not saying this. Every day, increasing cases are being said in the report of corona virus infection released by the Delhi Health Department. The information about the Omicron variant being active in Delhi has been given by Dr Suresh Kumar, MD, LNJP Hospital.

Dr Suresh Kumar told ANI that ‘We studied which variant of Omicron is currently active in Delhi’. He said, 50 per cent of the samples analyzed were positive for the BA 2.75 sub-variant. This is the main cause of infection right now. Which is spreading faster than other types.’

In fact, 20 to 30 percent of Omicron B5 and B2 variants are infected in Delhi. However, no surge in hospitalizations or severity of illness has been observed so far. However, an increase is being seen in Kovid-19 cases in Delhi, where the positive rate is around 15.02 percent.

Let us inform that on August 12, 2,136 new cases of corona virus infection were reported in Delhi and 10 patients died due to the epidemic, while the infection rate increased to 15.02 percent. Actually, this is the 10th consecutive day, when more than 2,000 cases of corona virus infection were registered in the city in a day. According to the Health Department, 14,225 samples were tested for corona virus infection, out of which these new cases were reported on August 12.
