Parliament Session: There is a deadlock in the Parliament regarding the new rates of inflation and GST. It is the first day of the second week of the Monsoon Session of Parliament. Due to the Oath Taking Ceremony of the President, the proceedings of the Parliament will start at 2 pm. The first week was met with uproar by the opposition over inflation and the new GST rates. The deadlock on this issue still persists. In such a situation, even today, there is bound to be a ruckus in both the houses of Parliament on this issue.
Congress can raise the matter related to Smriti Irani in Parliament today. The Congress had said in its press conference on Saturday that they would raise this matter in Parliament. Union minister Smriti Irani on Sunday sent a legal notice to Congress leaders Jairam Ramesh and Pawan Khera, asking them to apologize for the baseless and false allegations leveled against her and her daughter. Irani’s move comes a day after Congress leaders leveled allegations.
Congress-BJP protest
Youth Congress workers on Sunday demonstrated outside a restaurant in Goa, which Congress claims belongs to Smriti Irani’s daughter. According to high sources of Congress, their leaders have not yet received the notice of Smriti Irani, they will reply to the notice when they get it. Apart from this, protests were seen against the Congress in Amethi. Protests were held at the Musafir Khana bus stand here by burning an effigy of Rahul Gandhi in favor of Smriti.
