Maharashtra Shiv Sena Politics: Even after the formation of the new government in Maharashtra, the battle of Shiv Sena is not over yet. The tussle between Eknath Shinde and Uddhav Thackeray is still going on over Shiv Sena’s claim and real-fake. The fight over the real Shiv Sena in the state has reached the Election Commission. Meanwhile, the Election Commission has asked both the Uddhav Thackeray and Eknath Shinde factions to produce documentary evidence to prove their majority in Shiv Sena.
The Election Commission has given time to the Eknath Shinde faction and the Uddhav Thackeray faction to respond by 1 pm on August 8. After this, the commission will consider both the factions claiming their claim on Shiv Sena and the disputed issues.
Shiv Sena’s fight till Election Commission
The fight over the real Shiv Sena in Maharashtra has now reached the doorstep of the Election Commission. Eknath Shinde has become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra and is calling his faction the real Shiv Sena, while the leaders of the Uddhav Thackeray faction are challenging it by claiming their claim. A petition was filed by the Eknath Shinde faction to declare the camp led by him as Shiv Sena and allot the party’s election symbol “bow and arrow”.
How heavy is the Shinde faction?
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is calling his faction the real Shiv Sena. He has also told the Election Commission that 40 out of 55 MLAs, several MLCs and 12 out of 18 MPs are in his support. Eknath Shinde, who rebelled against Shiv Sena in Maharashtra, claimed to be with at least 40 of the 55 MLAs and moved with all the MLAs to a hotel in Assam, after which the MVA i.e. Shiv Sena-Congress and NCP government had fallen.
Shinde and Uddhav faction wrote the letter
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde wrote a letter to the Election Commission. In this letter, Shinde had demanded the allotment of Shiv Sena’s election symbol to him. Along with this, it was also told that how many MLAs and MLCs are with him. On this claim of the Eknath Shinde faction, the Uddhav Thackeray faction had also written a letter to the Election Commission saying that their side should also be heard before taking any decision related to Shiv Sena.
Who is heavy on whom?
Shiv Sena’s fight in Maharashtra is probably at the last juncture now. Who will claim the real Shiv Sena i.e. Shiv Sena, it is for the Election Commission to decide. Eknath Shinde has claimed on the basis of the number of MLAs and MPs that Shiv Sena is now theirs. 40 out of 55 MLAs of Shiv Sena Eknath Shinde are in support of. At the same time, 12 MPs have also got support. Shinde met the Lok Sabha speaker and asked him to declare Rahul Shewale as the leader of the party in the Lok Sabha, which was recognized by the speaker.
On the other hand, there are members of the executive committee of Shiv Sena in support of Uddhav Thackeray. Some MLAs and MPs are still with the Uddhav Thackeray faction, on the basis of which the Uddhav Thackeray faction is claiming its claim on Shiv Sena. Shiv Sena was founded by Balasaheb Thackeray, father of Uddhav Thackeray. After his death, the command of Shiv Sena is in the hands of Uddhav Thackeray. According to the constitution of Shiv Sena, after the party chief, any decision related to this can be taken by the executive committee of Shiv Sena. However, the final decision is to be taken by the Election Commission.
