Jamia Millia Islamia Controversy: Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign has been started from today on the 75th anniversary of independence across the country. On this occasion, where on one hand this great festival of independence is being celebrated with great enthusiasm all over the country. At the same time, there has been a dispute in Jamia Millia Islamia, one of the country’s prestigious educational institutions located in the capital Delhi.

The reason for the controversy is being told that the students were not allowed to celebrate independence in Jamia Campus. Due to which there has been a dispute between the students and the Jamia administration.

Students made this allegation on Jamia administration

The government has called upon all people to hoist the tricolor at establishments including their homes. The students of Jamia Millia had also planned to organize a program on the occasion at Jamia Campus. About which there has been controversy. “We had planned to organize ‘Azadi Gaurav Sabha’ to celebrate 75 years of independence,” the students said.

The program was on August 12 at 5 pm but at 4.30 pm the proctor refused to allow it. The students went to the proctorial office and requested for permission several times. The students allege that it was told by the Proctor Officials that “if you want to do such programs for patriotism, then go to Jantar Mantar.”

This action taken against the students

The students decided to organize programs on the campus itself, celebrating independence. NSUI student Abdul Hameed and another student were taken to the proctorial office where Hameed’s ID card was taken and said that they have been banned from entering the campus till August 15. Jamia Congress MP from Kerala TN Prathapan has written a letter to the Prime Minister, Home Minister and Education Minister on this whole matter.
