In many gram panchayats, Dalit village heads find a place in a corner of the floor of the gram panchayat’s office, while their exploiters sit in comfortable chairs.

What is TNUEF

Tamil Nadu Untouchability Eradication Front-TNUEF is a non-governmental organization (NGO). Around 400 volunteers of this organization conducted the survey in 24 districts of Tamil Nadu. The survey has revealed 17 types of discrimination against Dalit panchayat presidents in the villages that come under the NGO. The survey found that 22 out of 386 Dalit panchayat presidents do not even have a chair to sit in the office. This shocking revelation has been revealed in this survey. After releasing the survey report in Chennai on Thursday, TNUEF’s K Samuvel Raj said, “The result of the survey is shocking as panchayat presidents are not allowed to hoist the national flag in 20 panchayats when the nation celebrates the 75th anniversary of its independence. ready for.”
