Margaret Alva: Opposition’s Vice Presidential candidate Margaret Alva has spoken to the Chief Ministers of many states regarding support in the election. Apart from this, he is the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. Yogi Adityanath (Yogi Adityanath) will also talk. So there she will write a letter to all the MPs and appeal to them to support for the first woman vice-president. Talking to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, she was seen avoiding the question of seeking support and just said that she would talk to everyone.
Actually, the election of the Vice-President is to be held on August 6, but Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee has clearly said that her party will stay away from this election. Margaret Alva had described this decision of Mamta as disappointing. He said that this is not the time for ego or anger. This is the time for courage, leadership and unity. Mamta Banerjee is said to be upset that she was not consulted about Margaret Alva’s candidature. It is clear that Mamta Banerjee has made a distance from this election and Margaret was seen to be saved today by answering this question.
Due to these reasons Mamta distanced herself from the election
Mamata Banerjee’s stand was different even when the opposition announced Margaret Alva’s name as the vice-presidential candidate. When Margaret’s name was announced, there was no statement from her side and the party shunned saying that she was busy preparing for Martyr’s Day. Whereas the news came out quoting sources that Mamta is angry with Alva being elected without consent. Apart from this, it has also come to the fore that Mamta Banerjee did not have very cordial equations with Alva during her tenure.
Opposition weakened by the callousness of loved ones
In the presidential election, the opposition rift was clearly visible and the ruling party got the benefit of it. Cross voting made the victory of NDA candidate Murmu even bigger, and now the opposition unity seems to be breaking even in the Vice Presidential election. TMC has already clearly said that it will remain neutral. Neither she will vote for UPA candidate Margaret Alva nor NDA candidate Jagdeep Dhankhar, but it does not seem so from the words of TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh. He has once said that Dhankhar’s respect for Mamta Banerjee is not hidden from anyone. There should be an important relationship between these two, no matter how much the tensions have been there.
