Mamata Banerjee New ministers will be sworn in on Wednesday i.e. today amid the investigation of teacher recruitment scam in West Bengal. This swearing-in will be held at 4 pm in the Raj Bhavan. It is being told that with the distribution of portfolios, about 4 to 6 new ministers will get a place in Mamta Banerjee’s cabinet and they will join the cabinet.

Earlier, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had rubbished reports of dissolution of the cabinet and said on Monday that there is a plan to reshuffle the cabinet and four to five new faces can be inducted in it. Banerjee had said that at present many departments are being run without any minister and it is not possible for her to handle their responsibilities alone.

Banerjee told reporters, “We have to reshuffle our cabinet. There is no plan to dissolve my cabinet and form a new cabinet. There are many departments which do not have a dedicated minister. I cannot handle the responsibility of all these departments alone.

The Chief Minister said, “We will induct four-five new faces in the cabinet. This reshuffle will be done on Wednesday.” At present, Banerjee is handling the portfolios of Panchayat, Public Health Engineering, Consumer Affairs and Self Help Groups. After the removal of Partha Chatterjee from the cabinet, Banerjee also has the responsibility of the Department of Industry and Parliamentary Affairs.

It is noteworthy that Partha Chatterjee was in charge of the education department at the time of the alleged teacher recruitment scam (SSC Scam) in government schools and aided schools. Later this department was taken over from him. He was recently arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case.
