BJP Leader Arrest: BJP leader Bernard N Marak has been arrested for running a brothel at his farmhouse in Tura, Meghalaya. The police on Monday issued a non-bailable warrant for the arrest of Meghalaya BJP state unit vice president Bernard N Marak on charges of running a brothel. Police said that the accused leader has been arrested in Uttar Pradesh today.

In raids on Saturday, six minors were rescued from BJP leader Bernard N Marak’s farmhouse Rimpu Bagan and 73 people were arrested, police said. Since then Bernard N Marack was absconding. West Garo Hills Superintendent of Police Vivekananda Singh said, “Non-bailable warrant was issued against Bernard N Marak alias Rimpu. It is a standing warrant issued by the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s court at Tura.”

Police say – were running away from investigation

Police said Bernard N Marak was asked to cooperate with the investigation, but he was running away from investigators. Efforts were being made continuously to nab them. At the same time, extremist-turned-politician Bernard N. Marack alleged that he was in favor of Chief Minister Konrad K. Sangma (Conrad Sangma) is becoming a target of political vendetta and he is in danger of life. Rejecting these allegations, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said that his government allows the police to work according to its discretion.
