Sanjay Raut Detained: Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut’s lawyer has claimed that Sanjay Raut has not been taken into custody by the ED, he has only gone to record his statement. Sanjay Raut’s lawyer Vikrant Sabne told that today the ED wanted some documents. He got Xerox and we were given a fresh summon. On the basis of the same, Sanjay Raut has come to record the statement. They have not been arrested.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) team reached the residence of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut in Mumbai on Sunday morning. In the money laundering case related to Patra Chawl, the ED searched his residence for hours and questioned Sanjay Raut. After which the ED took him to his office.
ED officials took the Shiv Sena leader to the agency’s office in Mumbai. Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut left his house in his own car as a large number of Shiv Sena supporters gathered. During this, while talking to reporters, Raut said, “False allegations and documents are being prepared against him. All this is being done to weaken Shiv Sena and Maharashtra. Sanjay Raut is not afraid. I am not a party.” I’ll leave.”
Earlier, the ED had issued summons to Sanjay Raut twice. In which the last summon was sent on July 27. Sanjay Raut did not appear in response to any summons. Raut was summoned by the ED for questioning in a money laundering case related to alleged irregularities in the redevelopment of Patra Chawl in Mumbai.
