The case is getting longer as the students have to wait until 14 August again.The Supreme Court on Monday allowed time to the University Grants Commission to answer to the oaths recorded by Delhi and Maharashtra governments, in which they submitted they won’t lead the last term tests at state colleges.
The Court has dismissed the issue to Friday after UGC looked for time to document reaction to testimonies recorded by Delhi and Maharashtra. UGC has kept up all through that Delhi and Maharashtra can’t drop tests as they are limited by UGC Guidelines. Under UGC Guidelines, degrees can be given after lead of assessment. Specialist General Tushar Mehta, showing up for the UGC, educated Court that the degrees can’t be perceived if tests are not held.
The 3-judge seat headed by Justice Ashok Bhushan inquired as to whether states can be limited by UGC Guidelines when Disaster Management Act is set up, under which Delhi and Maharashtra have chosen to drop the tests.
