Monkeypox-Swine Flu: The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared monkeypox as a global pandemic. Regarding this, the BMC of Mumbai, the commercial city of the country, has also become alert about this epidemic. Meanwhile, cases of swine flu have also started increasing in the district. Instructions have been given to close the Jumbo Hospital built during the Corona epidemic. The reason for this is that now the number of corona patients in Mumbai is not high. How will Mumbai, which has suffered the biggest hit of Corona Virus, now fight these two major diseases, this is a big question and it was answered by Mangala Gomare, Health Officer of BMC.

Health Ministry is not in the state at present

When cases of corona epidemic were reported in Mumbai city, BMC had set up several Jumbo Kovid centers and with their help brought the disease under control. Although WHO has now declared this disease monkeypox as a global pandemic, but due to lack of health ministry in the state, what important steps will be taken for vigilance? Who will be responsible for this and who will save the people from the imminent danger?

To tell about this, BMC’s Health Officer Dr. Mangala Gomare told ABP News that appropriate steps would be taken if needed, while BMC has currently instructed all private hospitals and BMC hospitals that if any monkeypox person If seen with symptoms, then BMC will have to be informed about this immediately.

Kasturba Hospital is ready

Health officer Dr. Mangala Gomare told ABP News that Kasturba Hospital which has been made special for infected diseases. The increasing number of swine flu cases in Mumbai are also being treated in the same hospital. 28 beds have been made in the hospital, out of which 1 ward has been earmarked for monkeypox patients.

He told that, if even a single patient of monkeypox is found in Mumbai, then he will be brought to this hospital and till his test is not completed, that patient will remain admitted here. The official said that till now two suspected monkeypox patients have come to this hospital in Mumbai, although both were suffering from chicken pox disease.

BMC’s JJ Astpal is also ready for monkeypox
If even a single case of monkeypox comes in a city like Mumbai, it can spread rapidly because every new day many people come to Mumbai from India and abroad. In this regard, Pallavi Saple, Dean of JJ Hospital, told ABP News that till now cases of monkeypox have been reported in 75 countries. 20 thousand more patients have been infected with it, but monkeypox is not as dangerous as corona.

He told that according to experts, monkeypox is not even fatal. Only those people who are suffering from other serious disease are in danger from this disease. It takes some time to recover from this disease, but there is no serious effect on the health of the people. JJ Hospital belongs to BMC and if needed wards will be made in this hospital also for monkeypox or swine flu.
