India Weather Forecast: Rainy season continues in many parts of the country. Along with Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Saurashtra, Kutch and Konkan, there is a possibility of heavy rain in some places with light to moderate rain in Goa. According to Mahesh Palawat, Vice President, Meteorology and Climate Change Division in ‘Skymet Weather’, the Monsoon Trough (Low-Pressure Area) will move towards the northern parts for some time and there may be light to moderate rains in Delhi and other areas from Saturday. Thereafter, it is likely to weaken and turn into a low pressure area due to the formation of a cyclonic circulation over northwest Bay of Bengal. Delhi has recorded 330.9 mm of rainfall since the onset of monsoon on June 1, as against the normal rainfall of 360.4 mm during this period.

Yamuna in spate

Yamuna river is in spate in Delhi. The water level is expected to rise further. According to the Delhi Flood Control Department, the water level of Yamuna is expected to rise by about one meter by Saturday evening. The department has declared an alert regarding the floods in Delhi. According to officials, more than one lakh cusecs of water is being released into Yamuna river from Hathnikund barrage. The water level of Yamuna at 205.33 meters on the old railway bridge in Delhi has been declared a danger mark.

Heavy rain expected in many parts of Madhya Pradesh

Rivers are in spate after heavy rains in some parts of Madhya Pradesh too. After heavy rains in Ratlam and Rajgarh, shops and streets were flooded. Ajnar river is in spate due to continuous heavy rains. Not only this, after heavy rains, there is a flood-like situation in Ratlam, Betul and Mandsaur too. The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains till Friday in Indore, Ujjain, Bhopal, Sagar and Jabalpur divisions.

Leakage in Karam Dam in MP’s Dhar

Leakage has been reported in Karam Dam in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh. The district administration is very active. Due to this there is a possibility of turning into a flash flood situation. In view of the rapidly increasing leakage of Karam Dam in Nalchha block of Dhar district, arrangements have been made regarding security. 12 villages falling near the dam have been evacuated. The Mumbai-Agra National Highway has also been diverted, adding to the inconvenience of commuters.

Rain became a disaster in Betul district too

On the other hand, the water level of the river has also increased significantly in Betul district of Madhya Pradesh. The road till the hospital is full of water. Here villagers can be seen taking a pregnant woman on a cot to the hospital. Heavy rain likely in Rajasthan too

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in most areas of Rajasthan for the next few days. There is a possibility of thunder and lightning in many areas of Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Bharatpur and Ajmer divisions. A ‘yellow alert’ has been issued for rain in these areas. According to the Meteorological Department, in the last days, there was heavy rain at some places in Banswara and Pratapgarh districts. The situation remained the same in Dungarpur, Jhalawar, Udaipur and Sirohi districts overall. Light to moderate rain is expected at some places in West Rajasthan on August 12, 13 and 15.

How will the weather be in Himachal?

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain in some areas of Himachal Pradesh between August 14 and 16. Moderate to heavy rains may occur in Shimla, Mandi, Kullu, Kangra, Chamba, Sirmaur, Solan, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Una and adjoining areas around August 14. The rainy season may continue till August 16. During this, there is a possibility of heavy rain for some time in Shimla, Mandi, Kangra, Chamba, Sirmaur, Solan, Bilaspur and its adjoining parts. Landslide incidents have also happened at many places in Himachal. Two women had lost their lives due to a landslide in Kullu two days ago.
