How jobs got reduced year after year

Minister of State for Personnel Dr. Jitendra Singh informed that from the year 2014 till now, the number of candidates recommended by the recruitment agencies for appointment in various departments of the Central Government is 7,22,311. He said that since the year 2014 till now 22,05,99,238 applications were received. According to the data tabled by Singh in the Lower House-

In the year 2021-22, 1,86,71,121 applications were received, 38,850 candidates were recommended for recruitment.

In the year 2020-21, 1,80,01,469 applications were received, 78,555 candidates were recommended for recruitment.

In the year 2019-20, 1,78,39,752 applications were received, 1,47,096 candidates were recommended for recruitment.

In the year 2018-19, 5,09,36,479 applications were received, 38,100 candidates were recommended for recruitment.

In the year 2017-18, 3,94,76,878 applications were received, 76,147 candidates were recommended for recruitment.

In the year 2016-17, 2,28,99,612 applications were received, recruitment of 1,01,333 candidates was recommended.

In the year 2015-16, 2,95,51,844 applications were received, recruitment of 1,11,807 candidates was recommended.

And, in the year 2014-15, 2,32,22,083 applications were received, 1,30,423 candidates were recommended for recruitment.

Unemployment rate is increasing in India

In this way, the jobs in India kept decreasing year after year. According to the Center for Monitoring Indian Economy, the unemployment rate in India was 7.9 percent in December 2021. “In 2005, about 15 percent of the 18 to 23 year olds were going to higher education ie college, which has increased to about 25 percent today. On the other hand, there has been a continuous decrease in government jobs in the last two decades.

According to the last official data, unemployment in 2017-18 was the highest in the last 45 years, i.e., 6.1%. According to a research, since the beginning of the year 2021, more than 25 million people have lost their jobs and 75 million people have reached the poverty line, of which 100 million include a third of the middle class. Today, the country’s economy needs 20 million jobs every year, but in the last decade, only 43 lakh jobs have been created every year in India.

PM had promised a job, the opposition had tightened

Prime minister Narendra Modi had announced to provide 10 lakh jobs in the next one and a half years and the PM had tweeted and instructed to recruit 10 lakh people during the next one and a half years in all departments and ministries. On this announcement of the PM, Congress took a jibe at the Modi government and said that after promising to provide two crore jobs every year, now the government has talked of giving only 10 lakh jobs by the year 2024.
