Government to introduce anti-piracy bill in Lok Sabha

Digital Desk, New Delhi. The Center on Friday listed the Anti-piracy Bill, 2019 and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will introduce a bill in the Lok Sabha to make special provisions for the suppression of piracy at sea and to provide for punishment.

Apart from this, several private member bills have been listed, including the Population Control Bill to be introduced by BJP MP Ravi Kishan.

Opposition members on Thursday staged protests in both houses of Parliament over the government’s alleged misuse of investigative agencies against political opponents.

Congress-led opposition members in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha protested the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids and summons against opposition leaders.

The Lok Sabha was earlier adjourned till 2 pm for the day when opposition members raised loud slogans over the misuse of ED against political rivals.
