ED to question Sanjay Raut again today, will be questioned in the presence of Shiv Sena MP’s lawyer

Sanjay Raut Arrested In Money Laundering Case: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) will interrogate Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut in the presence of his lawyer in the money laundering case. Between 8:30 am to 9:30 am, Sanjay Raut’s lawyer will reach the ED office to meet him and then ED will interrogate Sanjay Raut in front of the lawyer after 9:30 am. Earlier, a special court in Mumbai sent Sanjay Raut, arrested in the money laundering case, to ED custody till August 4. The ED had sought eight days’ custody of Raut.

The ED on Sunday night arrested Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut in a money laundering case related to alleged irregularities in the redevelopment of a chawl in Mumbai. Prior to his arrest, the ED raided Raut’s residence for nearly nine hours, in which Rs 11.5 lakh in cash was seized.

Uddhav Thackeray targeted BJP
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Monday targeted the BJP over the arrest of Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut. He described Raut as a “true Shiv Sainik” who did not succumb to pressure. The Shiv Sena chief said that the ruling party at the Center is conspiring to eliminate regional parties. He said this on BJP President JP Nadda’s remark in which he had said that family-run parties will end.

Let us tell you that last week, JP Nadda had said that in the coming times only a party like BJP which is run by ideology will survive, while other parties ruled by families will end. Uddhav Thackeray said, “It (Nadda’s statement) is very dangerous and serious. His comments indicate the country is moving towards dictatorship and autocracy. Today’s politics is worrying.”
