ED summons 8 IPS officers in West Bengal, summoned them to Delhi for questioning

ED Summon: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has called 8 senior police officers of West Bengal to Delhi for questioning in the coal smuggling case. Officials gave this information on Thursday. He said that the Indian Police Service (IPS) officers who have been summoned by the ED include Gyanwant Singh (ADG, CID), Koteshwar Rao, S. Selvamurugan, Shyam Singh, Rajeev Mishra, Sukesh Kumar Jain and Tathagata Basu are also involved.
He said the IPS officers have been given a date to appear at the ED office in New Delhi. The ED official said, “These IPS officers played an important role in the coal smuggling case. The officials further said that there is evidence that these officers benefited from the scam. All of them were posted in those areas where smuggling took place.” The ED had summoned 7 out of these 8 officers last year as well.
Let us inform here that the investigation of scams in West Bengal is being done by the Enforcement Directorate and the CBI. These include coal smuggling and teacher recruitment scam. Last year, CBI had also called 3 IPS officers for questioning in Delhi.
