Andhra Pradesh Minister Get Threats Calls: In Andhra Pradesh, a shocking case has come to the notice of the minister being harassed by recovery agents. A minister of the ruling party of Nellore district and a former minister (who is also a sitting MLA) was harassed by loan recovery agents over the phone. On the complaint, the police swung into action and arrested 4 people. Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy and MLA Anil Yadav were getting calls from online loan app recovery agents.
Nellore District Police has arrested a gang of four loan recovery agents from Chennai in this regard. Laptops and several mobile phones have been confiscated from it.
Debt recovery company harassed the minister
According to the police, Ashok Kumar of Nellore city had taken a loan of Rs 8.50 lakh using the loan app and he could not repay the loan. After this the recovery agency has contacted those who were in the contact list of Ashok’s mobile phone and in this episode they started calling on the number of Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy. Unaware that Reddy was a minister, the recovery agents kept threatening him over the phone and demanding money.
4 loan recovery agents arrested
Even Shankaraiah, the personal assistant of Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy, paid Rs 25,000 to the agency. However, the agents continued to harass the Minister’s PA. Distressed Sankaraiah lodged a complaint with the Muthukuru police. Taking action, a team of police arrested loan recovery agents in Chennai and seized laptops and four mobile phones from their possession, Superintendent of Police C Vijay Rao said. Similarly, the recovery agents also harassed another former minister of Jagan government and sitting MLA Anil Kumar Yadav to repay the loan. His number was also illegally taken by the agents from the mobile of the borrower.
