On Wednesday, the corona vaccine ‘Corbevax’ of the Biological E company was also approved by the central government for use in emergency.
Corbevax Vaccine Available at Vaccination Centers
Corbevax vaccine is available from 12th August i.e. today at the vaccination centers of the country. Its availability at private and government vaccination centers will also be visible on the Cowin App from today. According to the vaccine manufacturer Biological E Limited, 100 million doses of the vaccine have been supplied to the central government.
Booster dose at how many months after the second dose?
Corbevax was approved as India’s first asymptomatic COVID-19 booster shot for people 18 years and above six months after the primary vaccination dose of the covaxin Covaxin or Covishield. The second dose of Covaxin or Covishield Vaccine may be given as a precautionary dose after completion of 6 months or 26 weeks from the date of administration. People who have taken Covaxin or Covishield can be given a Corbevax booster shot. The Union Health Ministry had approved Corbevax for emergency use based on a recent recommendation by the COVID-19 Working Group of the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI).
