Congress On PM Modi: The Congress on Sunday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s real intention behind celebrating Partition Memorial Day on August 14 is to use the saddest historical events for his political gains. Congress General Secretary (Communications) Jairam Ramesh said the tragedy of Partition should not be used to incite hatred and prejudice.
He said the politics of hatred would be defeated and the Congress would continue to unite the nation by carrying forward the legacy of Gandhi, Nehru, Patel and other leaders. Prime Minister Modi had announced last year that Partition Vibhishika Memorial Day would be celebrated on August 14 in memory of the struggle and sacrifice of the people.

Ramesh tweeted, “The prime minister’s real intention behind celebrating 14th August as Partition Horror Memorial Day is to use the saddest historical events for his political gains. Lakhs of people were displaced and lost their lives. Their sacrifices should not be forgotten or humiliated.
He wrote, “The tragedy of Partition should not be misused to incite hatred and prejudice. The truth is that Savarkar gave the two-nation theory and Jinnah took it forward. Patel wrote that I think that if partition is not accepted, India will be divided into many pieces.

The Congress leader asked, “Will the Prime Minister today also remember Jana Sangh founder Syama Prasad Mookerjee, who supported the partition of Bengal against the wishes of Sarat Chandra Bose and joined the first cabinet of independent India when partition The painful consequences of this were clearly visible?

Prime minister Narendra Modi On Sunday paid tributes to those who lost their lives during Partition and appreciated the patience and stamina of the victims of that tragic period of history. Significantly, during the Partition of India in 1947, lakhs of people were displaced and a large number of people were killed in the communal riots.
