Indian Railway: Reports of a large number of separated children are coming out in Mumbai. Central and Western Railway have reunited about 1200 children with their parents under Operation Nanhe Angeli in a year. Western Railway had rescued 478 estranged children in Mumbai in the last seven months. Central Railway has rescued a total of 745 children.
Shivaji Sutar, Chief Public Relations Officer of Central Railway said in a conversation with ABP News that he thanks all those people who did noble work under this campaign and introduced the children to their parents. He said that in this work, Railway Protection Bula, Government Railway Police, Station Master and many NGOs are also involved. Central Railway has rescued 745 children from 5 divisions in the last 6 months.
From where were most children rescued?
Maximum 381 children have been rescued in Mumbai. In which 270 were boys and a total of 111 were girls. At the same time, there are 139 women in Buswal in Maharashtra, 136 in Pune, 56 in Nagpur, 34 in Solapur. Railway officials said that most of the children run away from home. Their reason for leaving the house is either a family feud or attraction to the city of Mumbai. This is the reason why children from different parts of the country are found in Mumbai.
A Child Line Seva Kendra has been set up at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus of Central Railway where parents are eager to meet their lost children. Vinod Ram, the father of a child who ran away from his house, told ABP News that his child is 12 years old and went missing on 6 April from a village in Bihar.
How is Child Line sharing happiness?
His parents tried a lot to find the child but the child was not found, due to which he got disappointed but then Child Line called him and told him that his son has been found. His son had left the house after quarreling with his mother. Pallavi, Sub Inspector of Railway Police, while talking to ABP News said that the RPF team talks to the child who seems dejected and calm to them and tries to understand their problems.
Police personnel are given training to understand children?
Sub Inspector Anuradha told that for this special training is given to them that how the police personnel understand the gestures of the children. When a child is scared, most of the women police interact with those children so that the children can feel safe. At the same time, Sumit Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway told ABP News that his work is done with the help of Railway Protection Force, Government Railway Police, and many others.
Western Railway has rescued many children with the help of technology. Where more than 2600 CCTV cameras have been installed in Mumbai Sub-Urban. He said that we keep a watch that if any child is lonely, upset, then we inquire him and then with the help of NGOs, we introduce him to his parents.
How many children has been rescued by Western Railway so far?
Western Railway has so far rescued 487 children. In this, maximum number of children have been rescued from Mumbai. Maximum 181 children have been rescued in Mumbai. 63 children have been rescued in Vadodara, 102 in Ratlam, 80 in Ahmedabad, 52 in Rajkot, 9 in Bhavnagar.
