Amit Satam Letter To BMC: BJP MLA from Andheri area of Mumbai Amit Satam has demanded to convert Seven Hills Hospital into a multi-specialty and cancer hospital. He has written a letter to the BMC Commissioner regarding this. Satam said that the land was reserved for this purpose before the arrival of the Kovid-19 epidemic in the country. He said that the BMC needs to take a policy decision in this regard and provide more facilities for the patients.
During the Corona period, Seven Hills Hospital was reserved for the treatment of Kovid patients, where thousands of people got themselves treated.
BJP MLA writes letter to BMC
BJP MLA Amit Satam wrote a letter to BMC Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal on 9 August, in which he has said that during the Kovid epidemic, many hospitals treated people in a very good way and saved lives. Out of which this Seven Hills Hospital Hospital is also included. During the Kovid period, BMC had taken over this hospital and only corona patients were treated. The mortality rate of Kovid patients has come down in Mumbai in the last few months, due to which eight Kovid centers have been closed. However, Seven Hills Hospital has been reserved for Kovid patients even today.
The real motive was to build a cancer hospital – Satam
Emphasizing on reservation on the plot for the cancer hospital, BJP MLA Amit Satam said that Seven Hills Company was given a purpose to run this hospital. According to the 2004 resolution, that company was given to build and run a 1300-bed cancer and multi-specialty hospital on a municipal plot. A partial structure was earlier built on this site and the original purpose behind it was to build a cancer hospital.
Demand to convert into multi specialty hospital
BJP MLA Satam said that now Seven Hills Hospital is fully built, so a decision should be taken through BMC to convert this hospital into Cancer and Multi Specialty Hospital. The hospital has facilities like pathology lab, radiation therapy, nuclear medicine, nephrology, endocrinology, neurology etc. So it can treat serious diseases like cancer, heart disease, kidney, brain, diabetes, thyroid etc.
BJP MLA Amit Satam said that at present Tata Hospital in Parel area of Mumbai is the only hospital to treat cancer patients and all poor people have to face many difficulties in reaching there. People have to queue for hours, hence it is requested that BMC try to start Cancer and Multispeciality Hospital along with Medical College at Seven Hills Hospital on the lines of KEM, Sayan, Nair and Cooper Do.
