BJP making fun of welfare schemes by calling them free ki rewari: Sisodia

Digital Desk, New Delhi. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Friday hit back at Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s statement on freebies, saying that the BJP is making fun of AAP’s welfare schemes by calling them freebies. Sisodia said that two models of governance are being adopted in the country. He said, one is the friendly model of governance, where people in power waive off crores of taxes of their rich friends and call it development, the other model is to open schools, free education to children, free electricity to citizens, free women. There is honest use of taxpayers money for bus travel and pension to the elderly.

The AAP leader said the BJP’s benevolent model waives off loans worth lakhs of crores of its friends, but deprives the common man of facilities like health and education. During a press conference here, Sisodia said, they (BJP) do friendly politics, whereas we do politics for the common people.

He also said that Sitharaman has tried to scare people by claiming that spending government money on public welfare will destroy India, as she urged the Center to invest in citizens. “I would like to ask Madam (Sitharaman) to study the plans and models of other countries and see how they have become financially prosperous by providing free schemes to the public,” he said.

Sisodia said that every developed country invests in its citizens, which in turn further develops the country. He said, BJP calls welfare schemes for the public as free ki rewari, but we tell them to invest in our people. Sisodia also claimed that the Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government has a revenue surplus despite free schemes for the people, while the BJP-ruled states are in deficit.
