Sanjay Raut Money Laundering Case: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Varsha Raut, wife of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut, for questioning in a money laundering case related to alleged irregularities in the redevelopment of a local ‘chawl’. Varsha Raut is likely to face her husband and some other accused involved in the case when she appears at the ED’s office at Ballard Estate later this week. ABP News has got the evidence of the property purchased in the name of Sanjay Raut’s wife. 10 land parcels have been bought in the name of Sanjay Raut’s wife Varsha Raut and Swapna Patkar. It is 36.86 square meters in total.

The ED had arrested Sanjay Raut on August 1 in this case and on Thursday a local court extended his custody till August 8. The ED had earlier told the court that Sanjay Raut and his family had received over Rs 1 crore deposited through alleged irregularities in the housing redevelopment project. However, Sanjay Raut (60), a close aide of Shiv Sena chief and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, had denied any wrongdoing and termed the ED case registered against him as “fake”.
