Who is Kailash Satyarthi-
Kailash Satyarthi was born in 1954 in Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh. She is an Indian child rights activist. He leads the movement against child labour, bonded labour, human trafficking.
He started ‘Bachpan Bachao Andolan’ in 1980 for the protection of child rights. Through which he worked for the rights of children not only in India but in different countries of the world.
Improved life of 80 thousand children
Through ‘Bachpan Bachao Andolan’, lives of more than 80 thousand children have been improved so far by Kailash Satyarthi and his associates. These children were supported in better education and living.
With the efforts of Kailash Satyarthi, in 1999, the International Labor Union adopted Treaty No. 182 on Deformed Categories of Child Labor.
Multiple fatal attacks-
He faced many challenges while working for the rights of children. During this, there were many fatal attacks on him. In 2004, when he was rescuing children working in the Great Roman Circus, he was attacked with a deadly attack.
A similar incident happened during the raid on a textile factory in Delhi in 2011. Despite this, he did not lose his intentions to work for the rights of children.
Rugmark launched-
Kailash Satyarthi started Rugmark in the manufacture of carpets and other fabrics. Which gives this proof that children have not been engaged in this work. This is a very commendable effort, which is also supported by the government.
Received Nobel Prize for the fight for child rights
In view of his remarkable work for child rights, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2004. He was given this award jointly with Malala Yousafzai of Pakistan.
