Maharashtra News: The iron bridge built to cross the ‘Taas’ river in the tribal area of ​​Shendipada in Nashik district of Maharashtra was washed away in the very first rain. This iron bridge was built just 6 months ago, which has been washed away in the flood waters. A shocking video of this has surfaced. The women here once again have to cross the path over the strong water flowing in the Taas river with the help of wood.

The bridge was built seeing the problems of the people

About 7 months ago, a serious problem of water scarcity was reported in Igatpuri Surgana area of ​​Trimbakeshwar in Nashik district. A video of women crossing with wooden sticks to fetch water in Trimbak taluka’s Shendripada also went viral on social media. This video directly reached the then Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray. After this, taking cognizance of this video, he ordered the Yuva Sena workers to immediately go to the spot and build an iron bridge. Accordingly, an iron bridge was built over the river. A few days later, Aditya Thackeray himself inaugurated this bridge.

The bridge got washed away in the first rain
In the last 10 days, Trimbak taluka, Igatpuri taluka along with Nashik district received heavy rains. In many places, the situation of flood also happened and this iron bridge got washed away in the same flood water. Now again the women here are putting their lives at risk and have to cross over the flowing river. The lives of tribal women are being put at risk every day just for a pot of water.

There is no water in the river in summer, now due to rain, the flow of water in the river is fast, women cross the torrent of water with a pot on their head. Local people say that, a few days ago, the picture of this bridge being submerged in flood water had come to the fore and now this bridge itself has been washed away. That’s why we have to cross the running water again with the help of wooden cardboard.

The local people had also warned while building the bridge.

The then Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray had built an iron bridge over the river Tas through the Yuva Sena. The bridge was installed at a height of more than 30 feet. But at the same time, the local people had informed the administration and Yuva Sena officials that the bridge would remain under water during the monsoon season and the bridge would not be in use. But their words were ignored and now this bridge has been completely washed away during the monsoon. In such a situation, once again the fate of women has come to pass in a deadly way.
