🔍 Selection Criteria of Navy MR Recruitment
🚀 The Navy MR Recruitment follows a comprehensive three-staged selection process to ensure the best candidates are chosen. Here’s a brief description of each stage:
Stage-I (INET) 🎯
Shortlisting will be based on the marks obtained in the Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET), a computer-based examination conducted nationwide. The cut-off marks for shortlisting may vary from state to state as vacancies are allocated state-wise.
✅ Exam Details:
▶Type of Exam: Computer Based Examination
▶Medium of Exam:Hindi and English
▶Total Marks: 50
▶No of Questions: 50 MCQs
▶Duration of Exam: 30 Minutes
▶Syllabus: Science & Mathematics, General Awareness
▶Negative Marking: 0.25 marks penalty for each wrong answer
Note: Candidates must pass in all sections and achieve the required aggregate score. The pass marks in each section and the aggregate are determined by the Indian Navy.
Stage-II (Written Exam, PFT and Initial Medical) 📝💪⚕️
Candidates shortlisted from the INET examination will receive a call-up letter for Stage-II, which includes a written exam, Physical Fitness Test (PFT), and Initial Medical examination. Stage-II will take place in designated Indian Navy centers. The syllabus for the written exam can be found on the official website, and Aadhar Card is mandatory for Stage-II.
✅ Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
Qualifying the PFT is mandatory for selection, and candidates must pass to proceed further. Candidates undergo the PFT at their own risk. Details of the PFT are as follows:

Note: The written examination and physical fitness test will be conducted on the same day.
🏥 Initial Medical Examination:
🩺 Candidates who qualify the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) will undergo an Initial Medical Examination. Those who pass this examination will be considered “Provisionally fit subject to fitness in the final medical examination.” The Final Recruitment Medical Examination for all selected candidates will take place at INS Chilka. If candidates are deemed medically unfit in the initial medical examination, they can choose to appeal the findings within a maximum period of 21 days at the designated military hospital assigned by the Indian Navy. No further review or appeal is allowed beyond this point.
📜 Merit List:
🏆 The Merit List will be prepared based on the performance in the Stage-II written exam, provided the candidate qualifies the Physical Fitness Test and Initial Medical Examination. For Agniveer (MR) male and female candidates, the Merit List will be based on state-wise merit. The cut-off marks for issuing call-up letters for the final recruitment examination at INS Chilka may vary from state to state.
💉 Stage-III: Final Medical Examination
🏥 The Final Recruitment Medical Examination for all selected candidates will take place at INS Chilka. This comprehensive medical examination is the final stage before recruitment. Candidates who are found medically fit in the Final Recruitment Medical Examination will be successfully recruited into the Indian Navy.
🩺 Candidates who are found medically unfit during the Final Medical Examination will be given the opportunity to appeal against the findings. If they choose to do so, they can appeal at INHS Nivarini/ INHS Kalyani, within a maximum period of 21 days. No further review or appeal beyond this period is allowed.
