Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy Resigned: Congress has now got a setback in Telangana. MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy has said goodbye to the party. He has also announced his resignation from the post of MLA. MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy can now join BJP. A few days back, Rajagopal Reddy had met Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Reddy, known for his statements, announced at a press conference on Tuesday that he would resign from the assembly. He will take time from the Speaker of the Assembly and submit his resignation. Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, 55, is the MLA from Munugode in Nalgonda district. He is involved in construction and infra business. Entrepreneur-turned-politician Rajagopal Reddy’s family enjoys strong support in Yadadri, Bhubaneswar and Nalgonda districts.
Komatireddy’s influence in Nalgonda district
Komatireddy’s family holds a lot of influence in Nalgonda district. His elder brother Komatireddy Venkata Reddy is a Congress MP from Bhuvanagiri. Rajagopal himself has been a Congress councilor, MLA and MP in the past. With his resignation, there will be a by-election in Munugode seat. It is discussed that the BJP’s central leadership is behind this decision of Rajagopal Reddy. It is being considered as master stroke of BJP. According to sources, now Rajagopal Reddy will be in the fray for the BJP in the by-election on this seat.
Targeting Telangana Rashtra Samithi
He said that he would like to fight against the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and Narendra Modi (PM Modi) is resigning in the assembly after considering the effectiveness of the government. Rajagopal Reddy alleged that one family was ruling the state. There is no respect for ministers, MLAs, opposition leaders. He said that the voters of Munugode constituency will understand and support his decision as development is limited to a few constituencies in the state. Due to Reddy’s resignation, a by-election will have to be held in Munugode constituency before the assembly elections to be held in 2023.
