Indian Army Recruitment Process: Phases and Details
The Indian Army is one of the most prestigious armed forces in the world. To become a part of this esteemed organization, you need to go through a rigorous recruitment process. The recruitment process is designed to test your physical, mental, and intellectual abilities. Here’s a brief overview of the Indian Army recruitment process:
Phase I – Online Common Entrance Exam
The first phase of the Indian Army recruitment process is the Online Common Entrance Exam (CEE). This exam is conducted at Computer Based Test Centres across India. The CEE is a written exam that tests your knowledge of General Knowledge, Mathematics, and General Science. The exam is conducted in both Hindi and English, and the duration of the exam is one hour. The CEE is a qualifying exam, and you need to score a minimum of 32% marks in each subject to qualify for the next phase of the recruitment process.
Phase II – Recruitment Rally
The second phase of the Indian Army recruitment process is the Recruitment Rally. This phase is conducted by Army Recruiting Offices (AROs) at designated Rally Venues. The Rally is a physical and medical test that is designed to test your physical and mental abilities. The tests include running, long jump, high jump, pull-ups, and a medical examination. The Rally is conducted in two parts – the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and the Medical Examination. Candidates who qualify in the PFT will be allowed to undergo the Medical Examination.
Final Selection
The final selection of candidates is based on their performance in both the phases of the recruitment process. Candidates who clear both the phases will be selected for training. The training period for different trades varies from 6 months to 1 year, depending on the nature of the job.
