This article provides important information for all candidates who have qualified in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) – 2023 (NEET-UG 2023) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). If you are eligible as per “The Medical Colleges and Dental Colleges of Assam (Regulation of Admission into 1st-year MBBS/BDS courses) Rules 2017 (Amended up to 2023),” you can apply for admission into 1st-year MBBS/BDS courses in the Government Medical and Dental Colleges of Assam for the session 2023 under the State quota seats. The 1st round of counseling for candidate selection will be conducted online by this Directorate.
Online Registration and Counselling Schedule
The online registration for the 1st round of counseling will commence from 25.07.2023 to 29.07.2023 (11.55 PM). Please visit the official website of this Directorate, www.dme.assam.gov.in, to access the online registration form. After completing the registration process, you can start filling your choices online from 30.07.2023 to 01.08.2023 (5 PM). Make sure to lock your choices on 01.08.2023 (4 PM to 11.55 PM), or the system will automatically lock them for you if you haven’t done so.
Seat Allotment and Result
The processing of seat allotment will take place between 02.08.2023 to 03.08.2023. Once the data is processed, a list of provisionally selected candidates, along with the admission modalities, will be displayed on the Directorate’s website on 04.08.2023.
Special Category and Quota Seats
Candidates falling under the Unreserved, PwD, and Reserved categories, including OBC-MOBC (NCL)/ Moran/ Motak/ Tai Ahom/ Chutia/ Koch Rajbongshi/ TGL/Ex-TGL/ Char Area, and special categories such as Freedom Fighters, Martyrs of Assam Movement, Extremist violence, Ex-Serviceman & Serving Defence Personnel, and Sports quota, must also participate in the online counseling. There will be no offline counseling held separately for these seats.
Document Verification
Candidates applying for Ex-Serviceman & Serving Defence Personnel, Freedom Fighters, and Sports quota seats must appear physically for document verification on 26th July 2023 (11 AM) at the office of the undersigned. It’s essential to ensure that all necessary documents and Annexures, as per MBBS/BDS Admission Rule 2017, are ready for verification.
