Delhi Government Schools: The Delhi government has now given a clarification regarding the allegations of poor construction in schools and reports of tussle between the two departments. It has been said by the Delhi government that in the second phase of the construction program, 12000 classrooms have been built in about 240 schools. The Deputy Chief Minister, PWD Minister and senior officials of both the departments are regularly inspecting it at various stages of construction.
During such inspections, the Deputy Chief Minister directed the heads of schools concerned to point out any deficiencies in the construction before taking possession of the newly constructed buildings. On this instruction of the Deputy Chief Minister, the Education Department has written a letter to the PWD, so that if there are shortcomings, they can be removed. The Education Ministry of Delhi Government’s Education Minister Manish Sisodia has written a letter to Minister Satyendar Jain’s Ministry and Public Works Department. In the letter, the Ministry of Education has complained of corruption and substandard construction in the construction of schools of the Public Works Department headed by Satyendra Jain. In the letter, the Ministry of Education has written, “Since education is a priority area for the government, the Delhi government seeks to bring about a qualitative change in the education system with all facilities in terms of infrastructure, a clean and conducive environment for better quality education. At the same time, many complaints have been received from various schools in this regard in schools. Use of low quality material in construction work, various shortcomings in construction hinder the objective of Directorate of Education.
Complaint about construction in these schools
The first complaint is about poor construction in a government school in Jahangirpuri “K” block.
Second complaint – There is mention of poor building condition and immediate inspection in number-2 school of Shakarpur.
Third complaint – There is a defect in the new building in SKV Andrews Ganj School.
The fourth complaint is related to massive water leakage in the new building of the school in “A” block of Vikaspuri.

Complaints from many schools
This type of complaint is from many schools, somewhere in regards to substandard material, excessive use of many water tanks. There has been a complaint of corruption somewhere in the new building. It has been written in the letter that due to complaints schools are not functioning and it can also pose a threat to the students and staff and the property of the school. Manish Sisodia’s ministry sought reply
Through this letter, the Education Ministry of Manish Sisodia has sought a reply from the Public Works Department of Satendra Jain.
