Seeing the seriousness of the matter, it was taken to another hospital by an army plane. In Spain, the first case of Congo fever came in the year 2011 and in 2016 one death was recorded from this fever.

Rapid spread in Iraq

Congo fever has spread very fast in Iraq. There have been more than 111 cases of this fever till May 2022. Here 19 people have died due to this fever. It is worth noting that here patients are bleeding from their noses and they are dying. According to the Iraqi Ministry of Health, the first case here came in 1979 in Erbil, Kurdistan. Then a 17-year-old youth was a victim of Congo fever here.

This disease also came in India

Congo fever cases were first reported in India in January 2011. At least three people died of this disease in Gujarat then. Earlier this dangerous disease had never been seen in India.

Where did Congo fever come from?

For the first time in Crimea, the case of Congolese hemorrhagic fever was reported in 1944. After this, in the year 1969, a similar infection spread in the Congo. For this reason this virus was named Crimean Congo virus. According to the WHO, it is often found in Africa, the Balkans, the Middle East and Asia, although its cases are less common in Europe. In 2001, a dangerous infection of the Congo virus spread in Kosovo, Albania, Iran, Pakistan and South Africa.

The WHO says that it can spread between humans through close contact with blood or bodily fluids. It is usually a disease of animals and is caused by the bite of ticks ie fleas. The recent case in Spain is that humans are also in the grip of Congo due to the bite of ticks. Once infected with the Congo fever virus, it can take three to nine days for it to spread throughout the body. The disease often infects humans by coming into contact with animal blood or tissue and from tick bites or contact. There is a lot of chance of death in this disease. Congo fever disease kills 30 to 80 percent of people.

Antiviral drugs are considered an effective treatment for Congo fever. However, it is difficult to control this disease completely.
