VIVO won’t be the IPL sponsor this year

VIVO has pulled out as the title backer of the Indian Premier League (IPL) during the current year’s release, following reaction via web-based networking media. VIVO had paid Rs 2,199 crore for a five-year contract in 2018. The BCCI on Sunday had reported that all supporters were being held, however VIVO pulled out after analysis via web-based networking media in the scenery of the conflicts among Indian and Chinese soldiers in Ladakh in June. The Indian cricket board on Sunday had reported that the 2020 season will be played from September 19 to November 10 in the United Arab Emirates.

Addressing PTI, an IPL Governing Council part on Sunday said that the sum total of what backers had been held for IPL 2020.

“The Indian Premier League Governing Council (IPL GC) met today by means of video-gathering to settle on the issues concerning the VIVO IPL 2020 release. Observing the predominant COVID-19 circumstance in India, the IPL GC chose to arrange the competition in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the matches will be played in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi subject to vital clearances from the Government of India,” BCCI had said in an official statement.
