Video of BJP leader abusing woman goes viral, Noida Police takes cognizance

Noida Police has taken cognizance of a viral video in which a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was found abusing a woman during an argument over planting saplings in a society. A Noida police officer told IANS, “We have taken cognizance of the incident and police personnel are already present at the spot. We will share the details soon.

Several video clippings of the incident have gone viral on social media, in which BJP leader Shrikant Tyagi can be heard purportedly abusing the woman. Social media users also shared the victim’s reaction, in which she narrated the entire incident.

The woman said, I live in Grand Omaxe (Society). A man named Shrikant Tyagi, living on the ground floor, was encroaching upon the common area by planting big and small saplings. When I asked her to remove, she refused and when I tried to remove them, she abused me, my husband and my children.

In the same video, residents of the society can also be seen accusing Tyagi of encroaching on the area by planting big and small saplings. According to a video of the incident, which has been accessed by IANS, Tyagi can be seen pushing and threatening the woman.
