Independence Day 2022: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Sunday said that Independence Day is an occasion to remember and pay homage to the fighters whose courage and sacrifice helped us get rid of an oppressive British rule. In his message on the eve of 76th Independence Day, Vice President Dhankhar said that as we celebrate the immense progress made in the last 75 years, ‘we must not forget how hard we have achieved independence.’
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar said, “Today, as we celebrate the achievements of the country in the last 75 years, let us also remember how hard this freedom was achieved after a struggle. Today, is also a day to show our gratitude to the builders of modern India whose hard work and determination laid the foundation of a sovereign, stable and strong republic. Today, India is a country full of possibilities and potential, which is moving fast on the path of all-round development. Let us tell you that on the completion of 75 years of India’s independence, President Draupadi Murmu also addressed the nation.
President on the eve of Independence Day Draupadi Murmu he said-
- The day of 14th August is being celebrated as Partition-Horrific Memorial Day. The purpose of celebrating this Memorial Day is to promote social harmony, human empowerment and unity.
- In most democratic countries, women had to struggle for a long time to get the right to vote. But from the very beginning of our republic, India adopted universal adult suffrage.
- The Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi started in March 2021 by reviving the memory of Dandi Yatra.
- In India today, the life-values of sensitivity and compassion are being given prominence.
