ARIQ Lamptey broke into the Premier League a year ago when he was subbed in London in the derby against Arsenal. That was the first appearance of the child for Chelsea and since has moved to Brighton to continue its right side career. The has been in good form on the south coast and has made many fans of Chelsea wonders why it was loose in the first place. Which it has now been answered by the defender, as reported by 90min.
“I’m an ambitious guy. I look at things and enjoy them at the time, but the next day I’m looking to see what you need to improve and how can I stay at that level “
“I’m always looking for a chance to play again, and then made me even hungrier. He’d had a taste of it and would not let go.
“I sat down with coaches, family members and agents and thought about what is best for me. It was a very difficult decision.
“Being in a club since he was nine, going through the whole system and make his debut with the first team, everything happened so fast.
“But I had to look where he was going to get the most out of football and how I could take my game to the next level.
“It was not an easy decision. I thought about it every day. But the opportunity came for me to come to Brighton, which is a fantastic club with a very good plan for the team, and the movement made a lot of sense.
“There were quite a few options to go but sat with my family and talked about where would be the best for me, where could help develop, and I thought Brighton would be the best club for me.”
The young man was behind captain of the team, Cesar Azpilicueta and fellow Academy graduate Reece James in resolving minutes on the right side of the back four.
His move to Brighton now makes a lot of sense considering that is one of the first names on the team sheet and is one of the most valuable assets of gulls this season.
