After the UGC notice some government have pulled back. The Tamil Nadu government has dropped the semester tests of college and undergrads aside from the last ones. The legislature has chosen to advance all understudies, aside from those in the last year, without holding any tests because of the COVID-19 emergency.
Subsequently, first year and second year tests for college classes and first year test for postgraduate courses have been dropped. These understudies will be elevated to the following year legitimately. Its an important thing in order to manage the stress load of the students. The understudies will be given imprints as per scholarly rules discharged by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) as of late.

UGC has asked colleges to obligatorily lead last year or last semester tests as, it says, “execution in assessments adds to justify, deep rooted validity, more extensive worldwide worthiness for confirmations, grants, grants, situations, and better future possibilities. “
It has solicited colleges to give the status from holding the test. As on July 18, 366 colleges have affirmed the UGC that they are intending to direct assessment (on-line/disconnected/mixed mode) in August/September.
Tests in 194 colleges have just been finished.
In excess of 200 colleges are yet to affirm the UGC the status of leading tests.
