Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut will appear in court at 11.30 pm, was arrested yesterday

Sanjay Raut Arrest LIVE: The ED arrested Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on the night of last Sunday, August 31, in a money laundering case. He will be produced in the court today at 11.30 am, where the agency will seek his custody. Prior to his arrest, the ED searched Raut’s Bhandup residence for over nine hours and then detained him for questioning in a money laundering case in a northern suburb of Mumbai. The ED had questioned the MP for over 10 hours on July 1 and summoned him again on July 20. Raut, a Rajya Sabha MP, did not respond to the summons citing the ongoing session of Parliament.

On the other hand, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has reacted to this arrest saying that even though Shiv Sena’s chief spokesperson and Saamana editor Sanjay Raut has been arrested by the ED, the truth will come out after investigation. He further said that even though Sanjay Raut has repeatedly criticized us and the 50 MLAs with us, but we will not do so. Speaking on this occasion, he has clarified that we will answer his criticism through our work.
