Sameer Wankhede files defamation case against NCP leader Nawab Malik

Maharashtra: Former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Mumbai officer Sameer Wankhede has filed a defamation case against NCP leader Nawab Malik with the Mumbai Police. He filed this case after getting a clean chit from the Mumbai District Caste Certificate Verification Committee of the Maharashtra Social Justice Department.
Sameer Wankhede has filed a case against Nawab Malik under SC-ST Act. Let us tell here that Nawab Malik, while being a minister in Maharashtra, had accused Wankhede of getting a job by making fake documents of SC-ST. At that time Sameer Wakhede was investigating the drug case of Aryan Khan, son of film star Shahrukh Khan.
Case registered in Goregaon police station
According to the official, the police on Sunday registered a case against Nawab Malik on charges of defamation based on the complaint of Sameer Wankhede. The Gorgaon Police of Mumbai has registered a case under sections 500 and 501 of the IPC as well as the SC and ST Act. ACP of Goregaon Division will investigate this matter.
SC-ST Commission gives clean chit to Sameer Wankhede
SC-ST Commission gave clean chit to former NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede. It was alleged that Sameer had submitted a forged caste certificate to get a government job. An inquiry was conducted regarding the allegation. An official on the matter said that this order was issued by the Social Justice Department of the Government of Maharashtra on Friday. The order states that the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Wankhede was not a Muslim by birth. It has been proved that he belongs to the Mahar caste, which comes under the category of Scheduled Caste (SC).
