Madras High Court gave these instructions to the state government
The bench said that in public programs, the state government should follow the directions of the Supreme Court. The court asked the state government to ensure that even if the President and the Prime Minister accept invitations to any international event or not, advertisements related to the event must have their photographs as they represent the country at the international level.
Public interest litigation was filed
Please tell that a public interest litigation was filed in the Madras High Court by Rajesh Kumar, a resident of Madurai. The petitioner had termed the use of only Chief Minister MK Stalin’s photograph in all advertisements of the 44th Chess Olympiad at Mamallapuram in Tamil Nadu from July 28 to August 10 as illegal and in violation of the directions of the Supreme Court. The petitioner had appealed to the court to direct the Tamil Nadu government to include the photographs of the President and the Prime Minister in the advertisements.
