One individual has tried positive for COVID-19 in the most recent round of testing in front of the Premier League’s restart on June 17, the class reported on Wednesday.
Tottenham Hotspur affirmed in a later explanation that they got the one positive test.
In the three past rounds of testing since players continued preparing a month ago, there were 12 positives.
“The Premier League would today be able to affirm that on Monday 1 June and Tuesday 2 June, 1197 players and club staff were tried for COVID-19. Of these, one has tried positive,” it said in an announcement.
“The person who tried constructive will now self-confine for a time of seven days.”
Spikes said that the individual who tried positive was asymptomatic.
No matches have been played in the Premier League since March when the novel coronavirus flare-up shut down world game.
