Claiming that a simple-minded man was hacked to death by his folks and more youthful sibling, a horde attacked them and scoured their home in Garfa territory of South Kolkata on Thursday, police said.
Police officers captured the three in the wake of safeguarding them from the aggressors.
The slow-witted man in his mid-20s, with cuts on his body, was taken to a nearby emergency clinic by his folks on Wednesday night. He was announced brought dead.
After the episode became exposed on Thursday, irate local people scoured their home and whipped the relatives guaranteeing that they killed him.
“The slow-witted man was pronounced dead after he was taken to an emergency clinic. There are claims he was hacked to death by his folks and his more youthful sibling,” a senior police official said.
Denying that they killed the man, his relatives said he was genuinely harmed after a fall in the restroom on Wednesday evening.
“We captured the man’s folks and more youthful sibling. Examination is on. We have sent the body for posthumous assessment,” the police official said.
