Pascal Struijk is the obvious candidate to replace Cooper in case it fails the fitness test late and he should have a much better understanding with teammate Robin Koch defense that the pair did against Liverpool, taking into account the training sessions of a few who had shared at that point. Bring back Jack Harrison, who was not eligible to face the last time the city is a no-brainer, while there is a more open space for debate. Tyler Roberts and Rodrigo have shared the paper work number ten in the absence of Pablo Hernandez, but the 35-year-old has recovered and I would be tempted to do back in.
Joe Mewis: After such a dizzying start to the season, it seems an age since Marcelo Bielsa’s men came back to win a point in that vibrant match against Manchester City. Tonight’s game should be another doozy in the spotlight and certainly not the need for large-scale changes.
That said, with Liam Cooper doubt and Diego Llorente dismissed after the two central defenders picked up injuries during the international break, Bielsa may have to change things in the back.
