Leeds beats Burnley 1-0 after 2 contentious penalty calls

Leeds came out the better side of two controversial penalty calls in a 1-0 victory over Burnley at the Premier League on Sunday. Patrick Bamford scored the only goal of the game in the fifth minute, turning a point kick after he was postponed to have been stumbled by the goalkeeper of Burnley Nick Pope after engaging a long ball. It was the 10th goal of the front of the season. Burnley players aggravated before that decision on the part of the referee: the referees suggested to the Pope could have had a touch of the ball, and they were also upset not to have received a fine at the other end of the field in the 19th minute.

The goalkeeper of Leeds Illan Meslier went out to collect a tall ball and seemed to jump to the back of Burnley Ben Mee’s defender, who was competing for the ball. Meslier dropped the ball, and Ashley Barnes turned to shoot the net, but his name was disgusting against Mee. The Var could not grant a goal since the referee had blown a foul before the ball entered the net. Jack Harrison had a low shot well saved by the Pope after Raphinha broke after Mee’s weak pass, but Burnley dominated the rest of the game. On an empty shell road with his physical and direct approach.

Meslier produced a chain of good savings, no less important from the fierce shot of Barnes in the closing stages. While Leeds moved to the middle table, Burnley stayed with two points above the descent area that has played 14 games.
