Yogi Model Remarks Row: Union Minister Kaushal Kishore on Saturday stressed that the fear of law should be instilled in the minds of criminals. He said this in connection with the ongoing debate on the need to adopt the ‘Yogi Model’ of the BJP government of Uttar Pradesh against the elements causing unrest in Karnataka. Kishor said, “I am not saying in connection with the encounter that any person should be caught and killed, but such criminals who also shoot at the police and in return the police fire, then in such a situation Those people (criminals) are killed in encounters.

Kishor, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs in the Central Government, represents the Lok Sabha seat of Mohanlalganj region of Uttar Pradesh. He said that such people who snatch the lives of others, they should not have any right to live according to the rules. The Union Minister said that the court also sentences such people to death on the basis of testimony in many cases of murder. Kishor said that it is necessary to strictly follow the law to prevent crime and fear of law should be created in the minds of criminals. He also said that the place of criminals is in jail. Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday said that if the situation demands, the ‘Yogi model’ can be adopted to deal with anti-national and communal elements trying to create unrest in the state.

Talking about Yogi model

Following the murder of a member of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha in Dakshina Kannada district, there are calls for implementation of the ‘Yogi model’ of government in Karnataka by the BJP and some constituents of the Sangh Parivar (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and its affiliated organisations). Kishor, who has always advocated de-addiction in public forums, also said that he is not in favor of closing liquor shops across the country, but he is trying to keep people away from all kinds of intoxicants. A big mass movement should be started for He reminded that some people have died recently due to drinking spurious liquor in the states of prohibition-Gujarat and Bihar.
