Javed Akhtar condemned the deadly attack on Salman Rushdie, said- some radicalism

Javed Akhtar On Salman Rushdie: In New York, USA, there has been a deadly attack on famous Indian-origin writer Salman Rushdie. Salman Rushdie was attacked with a knife during an event. The attacker first stabbed Salman on his neck and then punched him. After the attack, Salman was rushed to the hospital. Condemning the attack on Salman, lyricist-writer Javed Akhtar said, ‘I hope strict action is taken against the guilty.’

Javed Akhtar tweeted, “I condemn the barbaric attack on Salman Rushdie by some fanatics. I hope the New York police and court will take the strongest possible action against the attacker.” The person who attacked Salman has been taken into custody by the police. Giving more information on the matter, the New York Police said that before a speech program at the Chautauqua Institute, there has been an attack on writer Salman Rushdie, whose investigation has been started. He told that, Salman has been taken to the hospital by helicopter.

At the same time, Karl Levan, an eyewitness of the incident in the program, tweeted that this attack on Salman Rushid was an attempt to kill him. The attacker attacked Salman Rushdie several times with a knife before being caught by the security forces. Let me tell you, Salman has lived in America for 20 years. Salman often received threats regarding his book The Satanic Verses. This book of Salman is banned in Iran since 1988. The book has accused Salman of being blasphemous towards Islam.
