Jammu Kashmir Encounter: An unidentified terrorist was killed, while two army personnel and policemen were also injured in an encounter on Saturday in Wanigam Bala area of Baramulla district of North Kashmir. An army sniffer dog was also killed in the initial firing. Confirming the killing of the terrorist through its official Twitter handle, the Jammu and Kashmir Police said that one unidentified terrorist has been killed in the encounter while the search operation is on.
The terrorist killed was of Jaish-e-Mohammed, identified
Police has identified the new terrorist of Jaish-e-Mohammed killed in Baramulla. The newly recruited terrorist associated with Jaish-e-Muhammad, identified as a resident of Kupwara, was killed during an encounter in Baramulla today. A top police officer confirmed and told that the slain terrorist has been identified as Akhtar Hussain Bhat alias Abid Bhai son Ghulam Ahmed Bhat resident of Trich Kupwara. He was missing from his residence since July 16 this year, the official said.
Army personnel also injured in the encounter
Jammu and Kashmir told that meanwhile two army personnel and a police constable were also shot in this encounter, their condition is said to be stable. It was informed that in the early hours of Saturday, a joint team of police and army had started a cordon and search operation in Vanigam Bala. As the joint team of forces moved towards the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists opened fire on the security forces.
Indian army dog also lost his life in the encounter
Axl, a dog of the Indian Army, lost his life on Saturday after being shot in an operation in Jammu and Kashmir while being deployed with 29 RR. The postmortem revealed more than 10 wounds and fractures of the femur. Wreath laying ceremony is scheduled by Kilo Force Commander tomorrow.
